FOSTER CARE SERVICES (FCS)
Foster Care Services provide 24-hour substitute care and living arrangements for children and adolescents who need a safe place to live outside of their natural homes until the family can be reunited, if possible. Foster care settings include homes of non-relatives and homes of relatives. Care is delivered by specially trained foster parents. The combination of family-based care with specialized treatment interventions creates a therapeutic environment in the context of a natural family home.
Foster Care is considered the least restrictive therapeutic placement outside of the natural home for children and adolescents who have emotional disorders, mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or who are medically fragile
