RESPITE CARE SERVICE (RCS)
Respite Care Service is a short-term period of care for a service recipient who has mental health, intellectual/developmental, behavioral, or physical challenges. The purpose of RCS is to provide the service recipient’s family or regular caregiver with a time-limited break from the routine care that they provide. RCS may be provided in various locations, such as the service recipient’s home, a private provider’s home, a licensed respite facility, or as outings in the community. Respite services are an essential part of the support that families or regular caregivers receive to maintain the service recipient in the home and community.
