The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is expanding the number of DMEPOS product codes on the Required Face-to-Face Encounter and Written Order Prior to Delivery List (F2F/WOPD List).

A notice published January 17, 2023, in the Federal Register announced the addition of 10 Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) product codes for back, knee, ankle, and foot orthoses to the F2F/WOPD List. The update is effective April 17, 2023, and increases the number of codes on the list to 63.

HCPCS codes added to the F2F/WOPD List are:

• L0631: Lumbar-Sacral Orthosis
• L0637: Lumbar-Sacral Orthosis
• L1843: Knee Orthosis
• L1932: Ankle Foot Orthosis
• L1940: Ankle Foot Orthosis
• L1951: Ankle Foot Orthosis
• L1960: Ankle Foot Orthosis
• L1970: Ankle Foot Orthosis
• L2005: Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis
• L2036: Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis

The full F2F/WOPD List is available to download from the CMS website and includes more detailed descriptions of the added HCPCS codes.
